"After sustaining an injury while working abroad on superyachts, I knew it was time for a change! I needed to combine my borderline fanatical obsession for sports with my passion for health and wellness. A career in physiotherapy seemed like an obvious choice!”
Now, look… working for the rich and famous for 5-years did have its perks but there comes a time where you long for a good coffee, some AFL and a surf with mates. Oh, and with my partially torn ACL, I had a job to do!
I flew home to Sydney and got stuck into my rehabilitation under the guidance of my local physio. My physio took the time to explain my condition which enabled me to have a strong understanding of my condition. We then developed a clear action plan. This gave me a sense of empowerment and helped to reduce my injury-related stress and anxiety.
- “This is the same feeling that I now aim to deliver to each of my clients!”
I flew up to the Gold Coast to commence my journey towards being a physiotherapist. Throughout my time studying at Griffith University, I have worked with a bunch of sporting teams across various sporting levels, adapting my assessment and treatment techniques along the way.
- NEAFL, AFL, NRL, AUS Olympic Surfing Team, Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and Gold Coast Marathon
I have an interest in treating shoulders, knees and lower backs with a focus on sporting related injuries and people suffering from persistent pain. My Bachelor of Exercise Science enriches my exercise prescription abilities allowing me to guide my clients towards their ultimate goals.
- “Guiding my clients through their recovery journeys and empowering them to take charge moving forwards is what I love most about being a physio!”
Outside of physio, I enjoy getting outside as much as possible and living the coastal lifestyle. I love to run, cycle, surf and snowboard whenever I get the chance! Recently, I have tried my hand at bouldering… which is a heap of fun. My weekends are filled with getting out into the community and experiencing live music and eating good food.
Feel free to send me through an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll be sure to get back to you with some helpful advice. I look forward empowering you through your recovery journey and helping you to reach your full potential!”
